What Womaniya offers women-led sellers

Womaniya is an inclusion initiative on Government e-Marketplace (GeM) that helps women entrepreneurs and self-help groups reach government buyers. It creates a route to the market; it does not guarantee a listing, bid win, order volume or profit.

Prepare the seller profile and product catalogue

GeM onboarding and category-specific records are digital. Verify the current checklist in the seller portal; older PDFs or a consultant's list may no longer match the live process.

Keep enterprise records consistent

GeM's current overview describes onboarding through Udyam verification and essential documentation for women-led MSEs. Check that the business name, PAN, bank details and registration records match the profile and the woman entrepreneur can access the registered contact channels.

Calculate the full cost before setting a price

Include raw materials, labour, packaging, transport, tax, platform or payment costs where applicable, rejected goods and working-capital delay. A low bid that ignores these costs can turn a government order into a loss.

Find an opportunity and fulfil an order

A seller should review each procurement notice and assess capacity before accepting a commitment. GeM's digital workflow can make records easier to track, but buyers still check compliance and delivery.

Search the live buyer requirements

Use the GeM seller portal to find relevant catalogues, bids or requests. Read eligibility, technical specifications, quantity, delivery point, deadlines, required samples and evaluation method for that particular opportunity.

Respond only when you can meet the contract

Compare the price and delivery window with actual production and cash flow. Keep a copy of the submitted bid, clarification, order terms and any buyer communication. Ask the buyer through platform channels if a specification is unclear.

Document delivery, acceptance and invoicing

Save dispatch evidence, delivery acknowledgements, inspection or acceptance records, invoice number and payment status. If there is a discrepancy or delay, use the order's official message and grievance process and retain its reference number.

Build a sustainable sales route and avoid scams

Government procurement can be one channel among several. Do not borrow or produce a large quantity based only on an expectation that the platform will generate an order.

Keep a record of actual margins and payment cycles

Track bid costs, accepted orders, cancellations, delivery costs, returns and days to payment. Use completed order records to decide whether to expand production rather than relying on platform-wide order totals.

Treat guaranteed-order offers as a warning

No person can guarantee a GeM tender win in exchange for a private payment. Never share an OTP or pay an unofficial fee to unlock an order. Confirm messages, fees and account changes through GeM's published seller support route.
