Get help

You do not need to know the legal name for what happened. Choose the closest need; you can ask questions before deciding whether to report.

Call emergency 112

Are you or someone else in immediate danger?

Move towards a safer place if you can. Call 112 for emergency police, fire or medical coordination in India. The operator may ask where you are and what is happening.

Use another device if this one may be monitored. Quick exit does not erase browser or call history.

Availability and response can vary by state, district, time and personal circumstances. No route can guarantee rescue time, shelter, confidentiality, representation or a legal outcome.

Before you contact a service

Call logs, messages, downloads and browsing may be visible to someone with access to a device or account.

  • Use a safer device only if practical — Do not make sudden account changes if they may increase risk.
  • Ask before sharing details — Ask what the service records, who may see it and who it may contact.
  • Try another route when safe — If one route fails, that is not your fault.

What kind of help are you looking for?

Choose the closest need. Service names come second so you do not have to know the system before you begin.

Ask what she wants
Do not share her location without consent or contact the person causing harm.
Offer concrete support
Offer to sit with her while she calls, lend a safer phone or help note questions.
If a route fails
Note the time and try an alternative only when it is safe. Failure is not her fault.

If a service does not respond

  • In an emergency — Try 112 again, a safer nearby place, local police or a medical service when possible.
  • For legal support — Contact a District or State Legal Services Authority or NALSA.
  • Keep a record only if safe — Note date, time, name or reference number; do not create a record that may expose you.
