Adult woman partner चुन सकती है
Faith, caste, community, family approval और gender expectations relationship पर pressure बना सकते हैं। वे adult woman को family property नहीं बनाते और lawful choice नहीं मिटाते।
Consent दो adults का है
Woman तय कर सकती है whether, when और whom to marry, या marry न करे। Family, clan या community उसकी consent supply नहीं कर सकते।
Disagreement और coercion अलग करें
Advice/grief अलग है; confinement, threat, surveillance, forced travel, document seizure, violence, forced marriage या financial control अलग। Pattern record और safety assess करें।
Faith को abuse का excuse न बनाएं
Religious identity assault, stalking, forced conversion, public exposure या control justify नहीं करती। Conduct को name करें, entire community stereotype न करें।
जरूरत पर relationship private रखें
Couple तय कर सकता है क्या disclose, कब register और किसे address/notice मिले। Danger में privacy planning dishonesty नहीं है।
पहले disagreement के लिए plan
Safe housing, money, documents, transport, phone, medical needs और family reaction पर कौन help करेगा discuss करें।
Special Marriage Act सरल भाषा में
Special Marriage Act marriage solemnise/register करने का एक civil route है। Facts के अनुसार personal-law route भी हो सकता है। Marriage Officer और qualified adviser current local process confirm करें।
Legal conditions check करें
Act solemnisation के लिए age, existing marriage और prohibited relationship जैसी conditions रखता है। Current form और document list Marriage Officer से लें।
Notice public process हो सकता है
Section 5 required residence period के बाद Marriage Officer को notice बताता है और sections 6/7 publication और objections describe करते हैं। Local office की practice और safety plan पूछें।
Fixed registration date promise न करें
Appointment, documents, objection, address proof, local practice, court/office closure timeline बदल सकते हैं। Written status और next date रखें।
Ceremony के बाद registration पूछें
Act दूसरे form में celebrated marriage register करने का route भी रखता है, जिसकी conditions/process अलग हो सकती है। One form सबके लिए assume न करें।
Copies और originals protect करें
Identity, age, address, divorce/death certificate, passport और witness records हर adult की accessible custody में रहें। Family only original leverage न बनाए।
Family और community pressure में safety
Threat notice से पहले, public post के बाद, police station, travel या move के बाद आ सकती है। Plan public confrontation के बिना बने।
Immediate danger पहचानें
Weapon, confinement, forced travel, assault, stalking या kill threat में staffed place और safe हो तो 112 चुनें। Unsafe confrontation में marriage plan announce न करें।
Safe contact route चुनें
ऐसा phone, email, address और supporter use करें जिसे family monitor न करे। Marriage Officer, legal service या shelter contact और public record rules पूछें।
Documents और money साथ रखें
Identity, bank, phone, medicine, education, employment और marriage records carry या safe copy करें। Threat के बाद अकेले collect करने न लौटें।
Protective steps पूछें
Legal-aid provider protection, residence, no-contact, habeas या facts में fit remedy explain कर सकता है। कोई single remedy automatic नहीं।
Mediation safety shortcut नहीं
Coercive control, honour-based violence या economic dependence में family meeting danger बढ़ा सकती है। Service को unsafe contact का कारण बताएं।

Rights, privacy और support
Supreme Court ने adult partner choice को dignity और privacy का हिस्सा बताया है। Practical plan में current local advice चाहिए; judgment safe service या completed registration का replacement नहीं।
Woman का statement उसका रहे
Police, family या supporter adult woman को scripted statement force न करे, phone न ले या उसकी जगह न बोले जब वह communicate कर सकती है।
Private conversation मांगें
Police station, hospital, legal office या Marriage Officer के पास private space मांगें और बताएं कौन-सा contact location reveal कर सकता है।
Shelter और coordinated support लें
One Stop Centre counselling, legal, police, medical और temporary-shelter support से जोड़ सकता है। Confidentiality, children, disability access और exit plan पूछें।
Work और education safe रखें
Threat campus या workplace पहुंचे तो only necessary contact को private plan बताएं। Interim transport, schedule, no-contact या security मांगें; address publish न करें।
Emergency और legal routes साथ रखें
Women Helpline 181, 112, State/District Legal Services Authority और NALSA routes connect कर सकते हैं। Local availability और sharing duty पूछें।
लोग क्या पूछते हैं
क्या adult woman family permission के बिना दूसरे faith में शादी कर सकती है?
Lawful adult partner choice family consent पर depend नहीं करती। Couple marriage route, documents और facts के लिए safety plan check करे।
क्या Special Marriage Act ही only route है?
नहीं। यह एक civil route है; personal-law और registration options couple के facts/current law पर depend कर सकते हैं। Marriage Officer या qualified adviser से पूछें।
क्या notice public होगा?
