MSME TEAM and ONDC for women entrepreneurs: registration and support

Learn how the MSME TEAM initiative connects eligible women-owned MSEs to ONDC, what onboarding support may cover, which eligibility limits apply and how to check a seller-network partner before sharing business records.

In this guide

What the MSME TEAM initiative does

The Trade Enablement and Marketing (TEAM) initiative helps eligible micro and small enterprises join the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) through onboarding and seller-network support. It is a route into digital commerce, not a grant or a promise of customer orders.

Women-owned MSEs are a programme priority

The Ministry's stated target is to reach five lakh MSEs, with half women-owned. That is an overall programme target, not an individual guarantee of registration, subsidy, sales or a place in every onboarding cohort.

Incentive eligibility has limits

The approved procedure says an enterprise needs valid Udyam registration and must make the required declarations about existing ONDC onboarding or similar government assistance. Scheme incentives claimed by network participants are limited to eligible micro and small manufacturing or service enterprises; trading activity is excluded from those claims. Check the current portal rules for training or other registration routes.

Register and confirm the right support partner

The TEAM portal uses the enterprise's Udyam number and linked mobile to validate its profile and route it to an empanelled seller-network participant. Keep the woman founder involved in every consent, profile and bank detail.

Understand catalogue, account and logistics support

TEAM guidelines describe catalogue preparation and account-management support, along with packaging and logistics components. Each component has its own cap, evidence and operating rules; check the current version before relying on a particular benefit.

Prepare accurate product listings

Give the SNP clear photos, dimensions, material, variants, stock, price, tax details where applicable and dispatch capacity. Check every listing before it goes live; a catalogue error can cause cancellations, returns or a loss on each order.

Read order, return and payment terms

Before accepting an order, check who handles customer messages, delivery, returns, refunds, settlement timing and platform charges. Keep the order reference, dispatch proof and buyer communication in the business's own records.

Protect the business while selling online

Digital market access works best when the enterprise can meet the order and manage its cash flow. Start with products and delivery areas the woman owner can reliably serve.

Price the full cost of fulfilment

Include product inputs, labour, packaging, platform or network charges, delivery, returns, tax and the owner's time. A high order count can still lose money if these costs exceed the selling price.

Keep account and data control with the owner

Use a business-controlled email and phone, set strong authentication and retain access to the catalogue, orders, customer messages and settlement account. Never share an OTP, UPI PIN or remote-device access with an agent.

Common questions about TEAM and ONDC

Does registering guarantee online orders?

No. Registration and onboarding can make a seller discoverable on participating network apps, but buyers choose what to purchase. Product fit, price, service, stock and fulfilment still matter.

Can a woman-owned trading business claim every TEAM incentive?

Not necessarily. The approved guidelines distinguish training and portal registration from incentives claimed for eligible micro and small manufacturing or service enterprises. Confirm the current activity rule with the portal before onboarding.
