भारत के colleges और universities में sexual harassment: students के options
Campus के अंदर या आसपास sexual harassment और retaliation पहचानें, internal तथा outside routes समझें और education, privacy तथा safety बचाते हुए choice करें।

Campus harassment में क्या शामिल हो सकता है
Student, teacher, researcher, warden, coach, staff, visitor या online group harm कर सकता है। Off-campus conduct safety या education को affect करे तो campus duty जुड़ सकती है।
Unwanted sexual conduct campus tradition नहीं
Touch, sexual comment, request, stalking, exposure, sexual message, image abuse, forced kiss या threat dating, friendship, clothes या previous yes से acceptable नहीं होते।
Power academic या residential हो सकती है
Grade, recommendation, attendance, research, hostel room, scholarship, team या visa refusal costly बना सकते हैं। Student authority को intimacy या silence owe नहीं करती।
Retaliation का risk समझें
Rumour, grade threat, isolation, outing, account attack, schedule change, hostel eviction या withdrawal pressure report/boundary के बाद हो सकता है।
Digital conduct campus safety affect करता है
Intimate image forward, deepfake, doxxing, location tracking या group harassment बाहर से शुरू होकर education और housing को affect कर सकते हैं।
Under-18 student को अलग safeguard चाहिए
Student eighteen से कम हो तो child-protection duty और confidentiality limits बदल सकती हैं। Institution route समझाए और child को alleged person से confront न कराए।
Campus और outside routes
हर route क्या कर सकता है, क्या share करना होगा, retaliation कैसे address होगा और multiple route possible हैं या नहीं पूछें। Internal committee urgent safety या medical care replace नहीं करती।
UGC regulations higher education framework देती हैं
UGC की sexual-harassment regulations higher educational institutions में women employees और students पर लागू framework देती हैं। Current campus policy, committee name और contact confirm करें।
POSH workplace conduct में relevant हो सकता है
POSH Act और Internal Committee employees, interns या workplace conduct में relevant हो सकते हैं; student complaint UGC/institutional process में भी आ सकती है। Setting और person के अनुसार route पूछें।
Criminal complaint अलग choice है
Assault, stalking, threat, sexual violence, confinement या digital offence criminal law में आ सकते हैं। Internal process criminal guilt decide नहीं करती।
Legal aid map समझा सकती है
Legal-services authorities और NALSA campus complaint, police route, protection, records और support compare करने में मदद कर सकते हैं। Confidential और accessible appointment माँगें।
Emergency और medical support पहले
Immediate danger में 112 use करें, urgent medical care लें और private support person माँगें। Perfect complaint तैयार करने के लिए care delay न करें।
Safely document और report करें
Student कितना record और कब report करना है चुन सकती है। Education, housing, health और digital safety plan में रखें।
Basic facts save करें
Date, time, place, people, exact words/conduct, witness, academic/housing impact और response लिखें। अपनी observation और सुनी बात अलग रखें।
Messages और account detail रखें
Email, message, URL, username, call record और notice safe हो तो preserve करें। Intimate material forward या friends से circulate न करवाएं।
Process लिखित में पूछें
Committee/officer contact, confidentiality limits, deadline, interim measure, support person rule, appeal/review और retaliation monitoring पूछें।
Device और location protect करें
Account या phone monitored हो तो safer device लें। Settings बदलने से पहले location sharing, recovery email, shared password और hostel access check करें।
Interim academic और housing measure माँगें
Class, supervisor, hostel, timetable, transport या exam arrangement बदला जा सकता है ताकि access रहे। Burden automatic student पर न डालें।

Good response student की agency और education बचाता है। Consent बिना disclosure को group investigation या public campaign न बनाएं।
Interrogation बिना सुनें
कहें यह उसकी गलती नहीं और पूछें क्या safer लगेगा। वहाँ क्यों थी, drink क्यों किया, fight क्यों नहीं किया या पहले report क्यों नहीं किया न पूछें।
Accused को confront या message न करें
Confrontation retaliation, safety plan और disciplinary conflict बढ़ा सकती है। पहले specialist advice लें।
Shared space में privacy रखें
Screenshots forward, classmates/family को बताना या hostel room reveal permission बिना न करें, clear safeguarding/emergency duty को छोड़कर।
Practical help offer करें
Health service तक साथ जाएँ, official contact ढूँढें, transport, notes, food या childcare दें और student के safe channel से check-in करें।
Friend controlling न बने
जहाँ possible student report, pause, transfer, stay, leave या counselling का निर्णय खुद ले। Friend phone, money, documents या story अपने हाथ में न ले।
Colleges और universities क्या बनाएं
Committee तभी useful है जब student safely पहुँच सके, process समझे और punishment या forced reconciliation के बिना enrolled रहे।
Usable route publish करें
Committee, email, office, after-hours contact, language access, confidentiality limits, timeline, appeal route और emergency alternative campus तथा online हर जगह दें।
Conflict of interest रोकें
Reported person, direct evaluator या housing/funding decision-maker complaint handle न करे। Conflict change कैसे होगा समझाएं।
Interim protection दें
No-contact, schedule/supervisor change, safe transport, hostel, attendance, exam support और digital access पर student से plan करें; default relocation न हो।
Records और retaliation protect करें
Information authorised responders तक सीमित रखें, institutional material preserve करें और report के बाद grades, attendance, housing, rumour, threat व account attack track करें।
Crisis से पहले consent और power सिखाएं
Clear scenarios, bystander choice, digital consent, child safeguards और support route सिखाएं। Student/survivor adviser की expertise का भुगतान करें; personal disclosure न माँगें।
लोग क्या पूछते हैं
क्या मुझे college को report करना जरूरी है?
हर व्यक्ति को तुरंत internal route use करना जरूरी नहीं। Institution क्या share करेगा, support और alternate safe route पूछें। Immediate danger या child-protection duty options बदल सकती है।
Perfect evidence बिना complaint कर सकती हूँ?
घटना describe कर सकती हैं और पूछ सकती हैं process कौन-सा evidence/support स्वीकार करता है। Intimate material collect करने के लिए risk न लें और medical care delay न करें।
Accused teacher या supervisor हो तो?
Conflict-free contact, interim academic protection और outside advice route माँगें। Grades या recommendation के लिए उसी person से negotiate न करना पड़े।
क्या institution mediation force कर सकता है?
Sexual harassment, violence या power imbalance में mediation automatically safe/appropriate नहीं। Process और consent पर qualified advice लें।
Friend क्या कहे?
‘मैं आपकी बात मानता/मानती हूँ। आज सब decide करने की जरूरत नहीं। Safe contact ढूँढने और education protect करने में मदद करूँगा/करूँगी; बिना पूछे share नहीं करूँगा/करूँगी।’
